Baskets of Love Story
In 2015 Joy Danley had the idea of making Easter baskets for the homeless and foster families in our community. The first year she gave over 200 baskets to CAPSLO & the Maxine Lewis memorial shelter in San Luis Obispo.
In 2016 she gave 200 baskets to local foster children and 75 more for the homeless students at Lopez continuation high school.
In 2017 her focus was on the homeless children in LMU, SLCU & PRJU school districts. She was able to provide more than 1,450 Easter baskets to homeless youth in our area.
Next year she hopes to provide Easter baskets for all of the SLO county homeless and underprivileged children.

Joy Danley and Mark Pazell have been doing large community projects to make a difference in people's lives since 2005. Their first project together was a treadmill jog-a-thon to benefit a needy family rebuilding their home after it was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. In 2006, after a decade long search for Kristin Smart, Joy and Mark put together the, "Kristin Smart Hope & Awareness Fun Run." They were hoping to bring awareness back to Kristin's search and build a memorial site to remember her at Shell Beach Park. In 2007, with the help of Horace Grant & Kevin Bromley, they put together a basketball camp for 300 local & underprivileged children. In 2010, they organized a half marathon fun run and bike ride to benefit orphaned children in Rwanda from the genocide. In 2014, Joy put together a wellness retreat called, "Next Step," for 50 survivors of human trafficking. She brought hope and healing for these women while bringing awareness to this horrible atrocity happening in our communities. In 2015, Joy went to Kibeho to bring school supplies to the needy children in Africa. She has also helped set up a school in a Maasai village in Tanzania & bring food and supplies to small villages in India.
Joy and Mark have a heart for underprivileged children not only locally but internationally. They have both survived cancer by the grace of God and feel like they are still here to share God's love and make a difference in this world. This year they will be starting a new project called, "The Giving Tree." It will be a tree where people can throw new and slightly used shoes on the tree for underprivileged children locally and internationally. It takes manpower and finances to do these projects. They are counting on their community, which means YOU, to help support these projects and make a difference in children's lives. Please stay posted on their website and Facebook page for upcoming projects and information on how you can help. Help them make a difference in the world one child at a time.
